I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.

Join a County Commission or Committee

You can join a County Committee or Commission as a citizen or, as appropriate, in one of the required positions (such as a teacher on the Youth Commission). These typically meet monthly, and require a few hours commitment per month. Here is a link to Legistar, which has all committees, when they meet, and what they discuss. Below is a link to the application for a County Commission. Please let me know that you have applied, and I'll do everything I can to push your application forward.

Join a City of Madison Board, Commission, or Committee

Much like the County process, you can join a City of Madison board, commission or committee and serve your community right here in Madison. There are many available committees that may spark your interest, so head to the website and find a committee that you could serve on. You can contact Arvina Martin, our alder for District 11, or Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, our alder for District 5, to move your application forward.
